Greenlit
Terms of Use
Last updated 13 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Four Leaf (“we”, “us”), for use of the Greenlit iPhone app. By installing or using the app, you accept them. If you don’t, please don’t use the app.
Read this part even if you skip the rest. Greenlit reads menus using AI. It can misread a dish, miss an ingredient, or describe a dish that has since changed. It is not a medical device and it is not a safety guarantee. If you have a food allergy or intolerance where a mistake matters, always check the physical menu and confirm with restaurant staff before you order. Cross-contamination in a kitchen is invisible to this app.

1. What the app does
Greenlit turns photos of restaurant menus into structured menu data and then, on your device, sorts the dishes against the diet profile you’ve set up.
2. Accuracy, and the limits of it
Menu reading is performed by an AI model and is best-effort. Dish names, descriptions, prices, and especially inferred ingredients may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Dietary classifications are generated from the menu text and general knowledge of how dishes are usually made, not from a particular kitchen’s recipe. Prices shown are not offers.
You are responsible for verifying anything that matters to your health before acting on it. Nothing in the app is medical, nutritional or dietary advice.
3. Your photos
When you scan a menu, you give us permission to process the photos to read the menu, including by sending them to the AI provider described in our Privacy Policy. You agree to:
- scan only menus you’re lawfully able to photograph, in places where photography is permitted;
- scan menus and nothing else: no photos of people, documents or private material.
Menu content may be protected by the rights of the restaurant or its designers. You represent that your use doesn’t infringe anyone’s rights.
4. Acceptable use
Don’t use the app to break the law. Don’t try to break, overload, or work around the scanning service or its limits, don’t reverse-engineer or automate access to it, and don’t use it to extract data in bulk. We may limit or refuse service to protect the app and the people using it.
5. Availability
The app depends on services we don’t control, including a third-party AI provider. Features may change, break or be withdrawn, and scanning may be unavailable or rate-limited. We don’t promise the app will be available or error-free at any given moment.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. Some jurisdictions don’t allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this may not apply to you.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising out of your use of, or reliance on, the app, including any adverse reaction to food you ate. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what the app collects and what stays on your device. It forms part of these terms.
9. Apple
These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, or any claim that the app infringes a third party’s intellectual property rights. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, on your acceptance of them, may enforce them against you.
10. Changes and termination
We may update these terms. The date above will change, and material changes will be described in the app or on this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it. If we add paid features, we’ll show their terms before you buy. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the state and federal courts located in Washington have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
